During the course of his tenor with Montour, Coach Sam was the ace of the Montour pitching staff. Over the course of his four years at the Triple-A school, he compiled a 17-7 record, and had a sub-2.00 earned run average in each season. He was also named to the All-Section team in all four seasons.

Following his stellar high school career Coach Sam went on to play for his hometown Pitt Panthers. In four seasons, he appeared in a combined 62 contests (20 starts) and owned a career record of 13-10. In that work, he struck out a total of 140 batters as primarily a bullpen guy. He had his best season as a senior, after making a transition mechanically from a three-quarter arm slot to a sidearm release. He worked a bullpen-high 50.2 innings and was 3-2 with a 3.20 ERA and three saves - allowing just 18 runs on 53 hits and walked nine compared to 42 punchouts.

In 2017, Coach Sam was the first player signed by the Washington Wild Things following their 2017 season and was only one of two rookies to make the Wild Things’ opening day roster for the 2018 season.

"Making the decision to join GC Baseball Club was one of our best decisions. If you have a ball player that loves to play and is always asking to play, joining GC Baseball Club is the right decision. The improvement and confidence we've seen in our 9 year old just in the last 6 months is truly amazing and we have GC Baseball to thank for that. The instructors, the facilities, the owners, the atmosphere ... It's a place for ball players to get their reps in and work hard to get better! Not to mention - it is super affordable for their parents! Then have some fun with their buddies in the Clubhouse after! I truly could not say enough positive things about GC Baseball Club and what it has done to help our son. Thank you GC Baseball Club for bringing this facility to our community!"   - Tracey M.

"This is our first year as a Gamechanger U11 family. I say family because that's what we are. I feel like I have known everyone here for years. Everyone supports one another across the whole club. Even in the beginning when we didn't know all the age groups everyone had their GC gear on at tournaments they would ask your age group and ask how they were playing. It's just such a nice atmosphere to be around. As far as player growth and development my son is so much more confident in himself and has grown so much as a ball player and teammate this season. I'm looking forward to see him continue to grow with GC Baseball Club." - Heidi B.

"After having our son play for a different AAU team for 4 years, we decided to take the leap of faith and join GC in their 2nd year. This was one of the best decisions that we could have made for his baseball development. From the time that practice started, all coaches had an interest in our son’s development. They really wanted to make him not only a better athlete, but also develop his character as a player. He has been playing baseball since he is 3 years old, and his 12 year old year has been his most successful as a player. Thanks to GC coaching staff and ownership team, they have reinvigorated his love and passion for the game. The ownership team and coaching staff are top notch. In addition to the training that the players receive, they also have team-building activities for the teams and monthly series which focus on different aspects for athletes (ie – social media, nutrition, etc). The brand new facility which the teams practice at is state of the art. The boys have batting cages, a bullpen (with real clay mounds), and a weight room. The parents can relax in the great lounge area with a coffee from the coffee station and watch their player on the TV’s that are live-streamed from the cameras that are in the player area. The siblings even have a place to hang out with video games and candy machines! Our 2 youngest don’t even complain about having to go to baseball practice or games anymore! We can’t say enough good things about GC, and haven’t looked back on our decision to have our son play here. If you are deciding between AAU teams, you won’t be disappointed with GC as your choice!"  - Melissa P.

"The coaches are fantastic and so knowledgeable! I love the family atmosphere and the facility is top notch. There is nothing like this in the area, I suggest you check it out!"  - Lauren F.

"From the moment you walk through the front door the staff of GC Baseball Club make you feel like part of a family. The facility is unlike any in the area. The facility is specifically designed for baseball and softball players to get their "reps" in yet still be affordable. That is the first difference you notice. The cost. No one else offers a club like atmosphere at such a low price. My daughter and son love this place. They ask everyday are we going to GC? I have no reason to say no. They get their work in without emptying dads wallet. If you have a ball player in the family I highly recommend GC Baseball Club. You will not be disappointed!!!"  - Gery S.

"This is our son's first year as a GameChanger and we have had an excellent experience. The coaches' expertise and commitment to making our boys better players and overall better human beings is bar none. They set a high standard for ethics and behavior and will not tolerate anyone who would negatively affect the club or the boys. It's incredibly refreshing to see. They want to put the boys in the position to win, but yet have fun, with no hidden agendas and play them in positions to their skill level. We did not know a single person when we joined this team but feel that the other families have become family and lifelong friends. They all made my son feel welcome and part of the team from the minute he stepped into that club. Hats off to the club and to the U11 team!" - Nickie M.
